Gateway to Technology and Huntington National Bank

Request: Computers and tablets for Guatemalan students
Donor: Huntington National Bank | Donation: 62 Desktops
It’s not often that a high schooler takes the reigns for supplying communities in another hemisphere with technology, but at Gateway to Technology, that’s exactly what happened. The brainchild of teenager Haley Kuproski, Gateway to Technology aims to provide end-of-life business IT to second- and third-world communities.
Understandably, Haley’s challenge is huge. How can a Junior at Columbus School for Girls can change the lives of students in Guatemala? With technology, but that doesn’t come cheap. At least, normally. But when corporate businesses upgrade their systems, hundreds of devices are up for grabs—if they can be captured.
The Good that was done:
GoodTogether®️ worked with Haley and one of Sage’s sustainable clients to coordinate delivering a whopping 62 desktops to the ambitious teenager’s family home. At that point, Haley flew the refurbished and data-sanitized devices over the border into Guatemala. The school kids there will be smiling, almost as much as Haley is, for years to come.
