NetJets Named 2016 GoodTogether Corporate Partner of the Year
COLUMBUS, OH APRIL 20, 2016
NetJets, Inc. has been named Sage GoodTogether® Technology Donor of the Year for its generous support of central Ohio non-profits. The company’s donation of 1,100 refurbished Apple iPads to organizations like Ronald McDonald House, Boys and Girls Club, and Lifecare Alliance supports and improves the delivery of vital social services to thousands in the Columbus area.
When NetJets flight crews recently received new tablets for use in the cockpit, the company chose donation over other options for disposing of the older equipment. “We could see these iPads had more to give,” said Robert Tanner, Vice President, Corporate & Government Affairs for NetJets. “Using them to support local organizations working hard to make our city great is far better than reselling them in some electronics flea market or having them recycled.”
Sage Sustainable Electronics presents its GoodTogether® Technology Donor of the Year award to one company nationally that creates transformative social impact through a gift of refurbished technology. According to Sage President Jill Vaské, the GoodTogether program amplifies the benefits of reuse by supporting the missions of worthy non-profits. “NetJets is a shining example of a company using IT Asset Disposition to achieve both strategic and sustainability results,” she said.
Sage supported the donation by providing data security, refurbishing, and distribution services, and assisted NetJets in identifying local non-profits ready to put the iPads to most productive use. Sage presented the award to NetJets at the Reeb Avenue Community Center today with a keynote from Columbus City Council President Zach Klein.
Organizations accepting iPads include Association for the Developmentally Disabled, Blick Clinic, Boys and Girls Club of Columbus, ConnectedNation, Fairfield County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Flying Horse Farms, Franklin County Residential Services, Goshen Elementary, Life Care Alliance, MidOhio Foodbank, Ronald McDonald House, The Arc of Ohio, and YWCA Columbus.
