MAR Third Party Refurbisher Registration
MAR Third Party Refurbisher Registration
Effective August 1, 2020 there will be changes to the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher Program (“MAR Program”), consolidating all refurbishers under one program which will include new licensing and distribution, and a phased transition from physical COA product to digital product keys. The new MAR Program creates a structure for Microsoft Authorized Refurbishers (“MARs”) who meet specific eligibility criteria to be licensed to install and distribute Windows 10 for Refurbished PCs under a Global Partner Agreement ("GPA) with Microsoft. All other refurbishers and installers may enter into an agreement with a MAR as a Third Party Refurbisher (“TPR”) in order to purchase Windows 10 and refurbish Windows PCs. The Registered Refurbisher Program will transition October 1st, so MARs can expect additional TPR requests from these existing RRPs. The TPR structure remains substantially the same as it is today. Microsoft will provide refreshed sample terms that comply with the new MAR Program terms as well as a TPR Product Terms Document and other material to assist MARs in managing the breadth TPR channel. In addition to licensing changes, MARs will begin to migrate to ordering and distributing digital product keys (“DPKs”). As part of this effort, Sage Sustainable Electronics as a certified MAR is requesting information from those impacted by this new direction from Microsoft. Please answer the below questions. This will help us more formally create a structure for this program.
