Case Study: Transforming Mobility Itad For A Fortune 100

Dust collecting mobile phones transformed into $1M in unrealized remarketing revenue after Sage’s client engagement team recognized the opportunity to save tech and the planet for one of its Fortune 100 clients in the healthcare space.
CHALLENGE
Prior to the Sage client team’s engagement, our client had an extremely decentralized mobile device disposition program. As a result, they did not have a clear picture on whether their mobile assets were being returned or if they were simply collecting dust in an employee’s closet. Or worse, lost or reused by others without being properly wiped beforehand.
SOLUTION
The Sage Client Engagement team worked closely with our client’s Human Resources and Information Technology teams to create an incredibly secure return process easy on the end users and both departments. The resulting ITAD mobility program streamlined the disposition process for our client to easily track a device’s location using our Sage client portal, Sage Central. Additionally existing and former employees now have multiple ways to return their devices via box shipping or in person at company offices.
Within one year the mobile disposition program had generated nearly $1M in previously unrealized remarketing revenue for our client. And the devices were put back into circulation more quickly, resulting in a longer second life.
